CIPA

In CIS countries, as all over the world, substance of an accountant profession has been changing significantly. Simple “accounting clerk” and “small-section” specialists do not satisfy current business requirements. Specialists, who work with an accounting reporting, have got a new role. They have become “business-consultants”, who are not only reporting results of economical activities in accounting lists, but also analyze processes, which take place in a company and warn managers and owners of companies about consequences of these processes.


 At the end of the last century the necessity of creation certification program in the Russian language became obvious. Over 200 million Russian –speaking area of the former Soviet Union was short of qualified international accountants and access to international professional certification programs was limited. That is why in 2001 Eurasian Council of Certified Accountants and Auditors (ECCAA) developed and founded “Certified International Professional Accountant” program (CIPA).
 


Syllabus of CIPA program has been developed in accordance with modern requirements; exams are administrated by the independent exam network, where board of directors is international experts and members of ECCAA. After successful pass of the necessary exams, professional organizations – members of ECCAA (only members of ECCAA have the right to apply for certificate issue) check candidates for conformity with the high standards of IFAC. Certificates are signed by a heard of a professional organization and by the Chairman of ECCAA and sealed by a professional organization and by ECCAA. Unique numbers of certificates are saved in the ECCAA database. For today the number people with CIPA program certificates are over 13000.

CIPA program has 2 levels of certification: Certified Accounting Practitioner (CAP), Certified International Professional Accountant (CIPA).
